Compassion follows the karanga of Christ in the spirit of Meri Hōhepa | Suzanne Aubert, bringing the wairua of love, care and compassion to all. Its work spans housing, hospitality, outreach and spiritual life, walking alongside people with dignity, simplicity and hope. For 125 years, the Compassion Soup Kitchen has been a place of warmth, dignity and hope for people doing it tough. Today it serves more than 85,000 meals a year to some of Wellington’s most vulnerable people — practical care made real through welcome, connection and a shared meal.

We worked with Compassion to bring its established brand together into one clear, human-centred digital experience. The new website gives space to the story of Suzanne Aubert, the organisation’s practical outreach, and the places where people gather, reflect and belong. The work pairs a refined visual identity with simple, story-led content, creating clear pathways to learn, connect, volunteer and give. Through warm photography, handcrafted illustration and thoughtful design, the site expresses compassion as something lived, personal, relational and present in ordinary moments.

Working with Vine Design has been an absolute pleasure. The team truly took the time to understand our organisation, our spiritual values, what we needed, and translated that into a beautiful piece of work that is both meaningful and visually stunning. They handled our sometimes slow and thoughtful pace with grace and professionalism. Every interaction was positive, and the final results exceeded our expectations. We’re so grateful to have partnered with such a talented and compassionate team and we look forward to working together on future projects.
